Masquerade

It was a dark starlit night
When we went to the masquerade
In Toronto at the “Casa Loma”
He did a sweet sounding serenade
We danced the night away
All mysterious persons, pretty costumes
Buffet with all casse-croûte
So many decorated party rooms
We never knew each other’s names
An orchestra with pretty piano tunes
World-renowned singers ask for a request
Crystal chandeliers, candles and balloons
We had no worries not even for a night
Champagne, liquor or anything you adore
All different languages were spoken
An ice sculpture with flowing wine for décor
People came from all over even Ecuador
Dancing out on the balcony
It was a party night so picturesque
A sky with twinkling stars and sky dark as ebony
As the evening progressed we were introduced
And met many ordinary people from all over
It was an exciting night one I’ll never forget
Candles lit all throughout even onto the balcony, moreover
Toronto is a fascinating place and sometimes mysterious
Always fun to see the plays and the piano bars
People from all over the world is most exciting
You never know who you may see even a superstar
Underground shopping especially in the snowy winter
You never need a coat some hotels have stairs
Leading underground a shoppers paradise
Hotels, restaurants, towers and leave all your cares
We always stayed in the Delta Chelsea Hotel
Across the street from College Park
With all the old fashioned street lights
Lights mirrored in the pool with fountains in the dark

Part fantasy, part truth. Although,
Toronto is our most favorite place to vacation.
Summer, Fall, Winter or Spring.
