My Heart’s Melody

Gratitude is what I feel
every day I awake
Thankfully God chose
my parents for my sake

I learned joy and kindness
Happiness filled my spirit
For I had the best parents
And realized my good merit

Humility filled my heart
As I prayed for Mother’s health
Dad was very strong
Not our fortune to have wealth

Hope is what we lived on
Mother had a brain tumor
Crazy, they said
We lived with all the rumors

They lost their son at birth
I never knew until I was of age
Broken hearts we had a few
We just turned to another page

Strength made our character
“The LORD is my strength and my song”
Exodus 15:2
We learn attitude with love
Not to boast but to be strong
