Home For Christmas

Being home for Christmas is where I want to be

Close family members enjoying conversations, and our tree

A homemade dinner sending aroma to every room

Lovely Christmas music, and all holiday tunes

Exchanging pretty gift-wrapped presents,

love felt throughout our home

Children playing in front of the tree,

and kitty and the dog do roam

Relaxing in front of our fireplace feeling quite aglow

Watching snow flakes drift outside our window

Peace and joy envelops, celebrating Christ’s Birthday

Allowing the children, the cat and dog a little leeway

May God bless us everyone, and peace will find its way

Our prayers for all our soldiers may they be blessed this holiday
