Electra

I did wish upon a star
But it must have been too far
For my wish never came true
As for me I never had a clue
One night sitting on my porch
Moonlight lit like a torch
Then I saw her, a blue fairy
Our sky looked like a sapphire berry
I could here her words in my mind
“Make a wish,” she was so kind
I never told a soul what I wished for
I know some only believe its folklore
Whatever suits your fancy to believe
We all have tales we like to weave
I do believe in fairies, and elves
What you think is to yourselves

No one can take away our dreams
Some just go to their extremes
Children like a bit of fantasy
When we’re older it’s an idiosyncrasy
Myths and legends are certainly not new
It depends upon your point of view
We talk to our young ones about fables
Their imagination it does enable
We tell them of Easter bunnies, and Santa
But even adults go see the Opera Of The Phantom
We create all our stories in poems and books
Some are really cute others are just of spooks
At a certain age the children know it’s a story
It makes them think, ponder and query
After all it’s a part of coming of age
We all like fantasy that’s why we go to the stage

"Appreciation can make a day, even change a life.
Your willingness to put into words is all that is necessary."
