He’s Checking His List
Candy canes adorn the tree
Popped corn strands for all to see
Creating bright colored greetings at their schools
Crayons and paintbrushes are the tools
Meanwhile, Santa’s at the North Pole
Checking his list is his goal
Letters by the millions Santa’s received
Good girls and boys are to be believed
Santa’s elves help him read
To pick and choose what they need
Some ask for clothes, others toys
All for good little girls and boys
Throughout the year elves keep lists
Not one of the children’s tricks are missed
They report back to Santa who behaved
And all are reported who misbehaved
This past summer your parents said
Be good so Santa will be on his sled
Did you behave and with respect?
Then you’ll be on Santa’s list I’d expect
