In God's Hands

On that fateful day all Americans were met with horror and shock
It was a sunny day and at 8 o’clock I was at my job at the bank
Everyone was preparing for a happy weekend, but when the news hit our radio
Horror, shock and total grief struck our hearts and souls, and prayers could be heard
At first, it appeared as an unspeakable accident; perhaps the pilot had a heart attack
But when the second plane hit, we all knew it was an unspeakable war
I was on the telephone that morning with a New York City fireman
Then I heard a woman’s voice call out “Even though your on vacation
You must go, hurry, hurry they need you." The gentleman I was speaking
To asked my name and extension, that he would call me later.
We kept logs of incoming calls, and at a later date I heard his name announced as “missing.”
Grief we all felt cannot be explained in simple words.
A demonic force, a hateful group; struck our country;
Jealously?
3,900 people perished, not all Americans. Some were from other countries.
343 firemen perished, not to mention the Pentagon, and those souls
on the other airplane.
It took me 3 years to write about this, I did a poem last year.
This is not a poem; it’s my account of what I went through that day.
When our husbands met us at our jobs, everyone was in tears.
I pray for all of our service personal, President Bush, politicians,
CIA, FBI, firemen, police and all who serve to keep our country free.
This is the greatest country on Earth, blessed by God Above.
We will all continue to pray to extinguish terrorism, and hate.
God Bless America! God Bless our freedom, and freedom of speech.
As the message above states, trust in our Lord Jesus, he’ll never fail us.
God Bless every one, and all other peoples of this Earth.
No man is an island, or any country we all need each other.
Please pray for Peace, in Jesus name. Amen.

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world
giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
