Little Things

A simple Hi, stars in the skies
Pretty smiles, I’m grateful for my eyes
Sweet melodies, I’m grateful I can hear
Ripe tomatoes, peaches, food to eat, happy I can taste
A mind to dream, and write a poem, hopes fulfilled
Just little things, and good health
A prayer to read, a floral scent
Thank you Lord for my sense of smell

Family and friends, a good word or two to say
A happy attitude, happiness comes from within
Blessings of cheerfulness, contentment in Christ’s love
Gratitude is what I really feel
Whatever the problem, thank you God for courage
Charity for people who have not
Generosity, and a forgiving heart
Most of all I thank you Lord for God’s mercy,
love, and promise of eternal life
