Reflections Of Winter

Silvery icicles glimmer on the branches
Deer hooves leave their prints in patches
Crunching sounds on pure white snow
Bucks protect the gentle whitetail doe

God’s amazing season dressed in sparkling white
Glistens to the eye in the bitter cold night
Wind swirling snowdrifts aside the hill
At times you can hear the siren shrill

In the daylight clear soft azure skies
Creaking half frozen waters sound like cries
Natures process while seedlings sleep
While small rabbits and squirrels leap

Nature all around us in a deep winters rest
Other smaller animals snuggle in their nest
An owl keeps watch for a stray creature
Wide eyed and nocturnal a distinctive feature

Star filled skies shedding moonlight afar
As if a night light as the North Star
These are wintry cold freezing nights
Awaiting golden rays of spring lights
