In my secret garden in my mind
I would grow flowers of all kind
I’d have a pond with a fountain too
With real gold fish water so blue
Listen you can hear the water trickle
Some don’t toss a penny they toss a nickel
Edging of the pond would stand a birdhouse
Protecting the ground with a small statue of a mouse
I’d watch the squirrels climb the tree
While relaxing drinking my iced tea
A garden so enjoyed by all visitors stopping by
Out door grilling and rhubarb pie
A white picket fence to edge my yard
Being faithful to be on guard
Keep out neighbor’s cats and dogs
To protect our cute little frogs
Daffodils and lilacs in early spring
Summer yielding roses and butterfly wings
Nighttime you’d see lightening bugs
Lining my pathway with fine shrubs
Enjoying summers fine scented air
Keeping my garden with tender loving care
Planting, weeding, cutting grass
Enjoying each new day while they last

I am come that they have life, and
that they may have it more abundantly.
